After a 22 year battle with what she called "chronic Lyme" and two and a half years on antibiotics, Dominique went against her LL/M.D.'s advise and obtained a prescription for hyperbaric oxygen therapy from a Pain Specialist. The results, according to Dominique and her lab' tests:"Cured"

The month of May marks Lyme Disease awareness month. Lyme disease patients that call themselves "Lymies" have mobilized.

Extraordinary Lymies such as Ms. Sandra Portlock are relentless in their search for a cure -- "Understand the diagnosis and . . . Defy the prognosis" is their mantra.

So, for the rest of the month of May, my blog will talk mostly about Lymies, their experiences and where they are now. And above all, the hard science and the reasons why these patients must be handled with dignity, compassion and kindness.

In the meantime, some science from the Lancet and the results of a small pilot-trial of using hyperbaric oxygen therapy into the multi-discipline approach for cure.
